.. but I suspect it will, and will no doubt prompt lots of hysterical (ha!) denials. The perceived difference in empathy between men and women doesn't really exist. IOW, it's cultural, like damn near everything except the plumbing.

Actually, I don't think the article says what you think it says. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think it says that with different rewards, men and women can perform the same. But since men are seldom motivated, they will seldom perform, and since women are often motivated, they will perform "better", so I can perceive a difference.
How's that for hysteria?
