Mer_panacea's Journal: Nostalgia

I watched some movie. That was a movie whose age setting is late '60s and the real event took place in Tokyo. It was about 40 years ago. I found a lot of nostalgic site in a movie we don't usually see these days.

At the end of the movie I found the location was not in Tokyo, but in Kitakyushu, one of the local town in Japan. Tokyo must have changed completely because it has been a cutting edge of development. On the other hand, Kitakyushu is almost a deserted town left behind the times of prosperity once this town enjoyed in prewar Japan. This town is deserted after energy revolution from coal to oil.

There's a utility to be left behind the times.

40 years ago I must have felt nostalgia. At age 5 or 6 I found a machine gun under the bridge. It was 1966 or 67, still this country was under the recovery from the confusion of post war era. I felt a kind of nostalgia thinking back to the past in this country.
