twitter's Journal: Microsoft Admits Pirates Avoid Vista and Office 2007

Bonnie MacNaughton, a senior Microsoft attorney, acknowledged that pirates prefer Windows XP over Vista and Office 2003 over 2007. The hounded representative did his best to pretend this is normal but the n-1 and cracking arguments failed to satisfy people leaving comments on the story. People almost alway prefer the latest version of Office so 2007's interface change is a more likely explanation. The excuses also ignore what M$ has called Vista's "perception problem". Anyway you look at it, people just don't want Microsoft's new software.
