A friend wrote me from her hotmail account today, to my gmail account. I replied, and a couple minutes later, I got a reply.. Oddly enough, it was this.. I guess the Hotmail/Gmail war is on.

I found some references that this has been going on occasionally for the last few months.
It would look like a very quiet power play, showing users that gmail doesn't totally work with all users, while hotmail is the all mighty product. Of course, we know differently.
I just did some hunting on size. Hotmail appears to have about 250 million users. Gmail reports "tens of millions". I'm sure lots of those are legacy or abandon accounts. I maintain a few acco
