Journal Gefion's Journal: Musings of a new /.er
An interesting dynamic this /. universe. A fairly longtime lurker, was compelled to register and post to a probablility article (the one with the monkeys and the car), so I said my piece and then was suitably chastised even though none of the posts I read actually explained it other than "you are wrong". Funnily enough, I was wrong, and I proved it to myself by basically going through the mental gymnastics of an algorithm (although my coding skills are so dated, it would have taken me weeks to get a relatively simple few lines of code into a workable proof). Doing what I felt the right thing, I reposted to my post to admit the error of my ways, but no one noticed.
In a subsequent couple of posts, I somehow managed to get a slightly positive karma (oh, that magic karma, source of the goodness in this universe), but noticed that only posts that are very quick and or very clever in their subject/title get commented on or perhaps even read. Very strong termporal component, tempered with enough bait of interest. So a real-time art form if you will.
I am guessing there are more [dark] secrets to be learned as I explore and engage.
