Journal StalinsNotDead's Journal: My elevator use policy 1

My elevator use policy came up today in a discussion at work. (only use elevators for floor changes over five)

We had a meeting in a conference room on another floor, and most of the people used the elevator to traverse a single floor. I took the stairs. I am not known for healthy living or even the remotest of health-consciousness. So the question of preference for stair-use was raised.

In the event of a mechanical failure, I am far less likely to be trapped in the stairwll for hours as opposed to an elevator. Plus I don't know if "trapped in elevator" is billable time.

  • I didn't like it. It was only for a few minutes - but I hated that I was in, and couldn't get out.

On the other hand, I'm out of shape. So if I go three floors up via the stairs, then I'm winded. I do it, so that I don't lose any more endurance than I already have. But it's a little embarrassing to be so out of shape at the top of the building.
