Journal einstein's Journal: Winter 2

I love going out to play in the snow. Sledding, snowball fights, making snowmen. if there is a backyard and a couple of inches, I'll at the very least have made a snow angel before it's melted.

this is my first experience with having a long commute in the winter. I hope it doesn't affect my opinion of snow too much. I usually try to leave my house around 6:15 to be at work by 7:30, and I usually get there at 7:10. today, I left at 5:50, and got to work at 9. and I only slid around a little. but 25 mph on highways isn't fun, and is made worse by the fact that I need new tires. Thank goodness I rotated the tires a few days ago, or I'd have slid so much..well, I'm not that stupid. I just wouldn't have come in (I'm just stupid enough to come in anyway...)

If I don't die going home tonight, I look forward to rolling around in the snow for a bit, and if the weather holds, maybe a little sledding this weekend.

has anyone else found their childhood memories starting to faid when they're forced to drive in this muck? actually, really wouldn't even mind driving in it, if every other idiot would stay home :)

I think George Carlin said it best:

"Have you ever noticed that when you're drivin', anyone goin' slower than you is an idiot? And anyone goin' faster than you is a maniac?"

  • It's hard for me to remember words like "winter" and "snow"... it's sunny and mid-seventies here in sunny Southern California.

I've almost forgotten that it gets cold in places...

  • In Ohio, we've had some really weak winters the past couple of years, but we've already had snow twice this year, so it could be a good (or bad, depending on your point of view) winter. The first snow of the year came the 2nd to last week of November, when the dirty Wolverines of UM came to town.

A side point on noticing slow/fast drivers -- ever notice that your car seems to run better after a car wash? Or is that just me? Strange..
