Journal haggar's Journal: Let's start using the journal 4

This is my first journal entry. I have a few ideas on how to use it, but I hope to get more and more as I go.

BTW, does anyone know if the contents of a journal expire with time, or with number of entries?

Let's start using the journal

  • I really hope that it never does (/. seem to have this tendency of keeping EVERYTHING - or so I hope).

The earliest Journal *I* found was by Taco:

    http://slashdot.org/~CmdrTaco/journal/4

note this is still #4 (currently at 18,000+); I wonder if we will ever see #1?
    • Thanks lingqui. I also hope it never expires, as well as I hope that all the content on /. will be available for a long time, because there is a lot of interesting and useful information to be found among the discussions.

How exactly did you find that earliest post? Did you just guess that Taco might have it, and you looked up his journals?
      • yup, guessed that Taco would have the (if not one of the) earliest entries.

so, the hunt for journal #1 continues. maybe we should look through Hemos and all them's stuff.
        • I would guess more in the robilmo direction, actually. Hemos looks like a bit more busy person, not the kind that will spend as much time around ./ as Taco.

Talking about the land of rising sun and your life there, I had a quick glance atyour journal entries on the topic. I envy you. I hope you make the best of your time there. Which will be how long?

Myself I live in Finland, but I was born in Croatia. Finland beats Croatia and any other place I have lived in or visited, pants down.

There are two ways to write error-free programs; only the third one works.
