Prior art on Mickey Mouse

The BBC has this story about a 700 year old fresco in Austria that is remarkably similar to Mickey Mouse. Even under current law, that copyright would have expired long ago.

That's pretty crazy. I found it interesting that it was really a weasel that the churchgoers thought gave birth through it's ears.
And that was only in the 14th century.
Fortunately, in this modern day and age with the internet, we don't have people around with suchwacky notions [artbell.com].

Disney has more lawyers than Austria. Therefore, you can bet the Austrians will end up paying Disney for the rights to continue displaying their fresco.
