MiTEG's Journal: Gave myself a haircut again

My hair was getting a little too long, so I decided to give myself another haircut today.

If I ever said that professional haircuts cost too much money, I take it back.

So I've got a new hair style now...

I was using the electric hair trimmer I have, and I screwed up one side. I thought for a while and decided that the best thing to do would be to even it out by giving myself a buzzcut, around 1 inch long all around. Being the genius that I am, I managed to put the blade guard on wrong and wound up putting a big bald spot in the back of my head. I tried to make up for it by making the rest of my hair a lot shorter (two or three mm now!) but it's still noticeable.

So I figure I have two options. I can suck it up and wear a hat for about a week until the hair grows partly back, then even it out. Or I can take a razor to my scalp and shave myself completely bald so my hair starts growing back evenly right away. I'm not sure which one I'll do yet.

It's a bit of a change considering that my hair was 4+ inches before I screwed it up.

On the bright side, I get to laugh uncontrollably every time I walk by a mirror.

She is persistent though. . . . must do my best. :)

Hey, it's a great excuse to see her. I used it as a way to get a really cute girl over to my house in high school with very similar results. But I'd do it again in a second ;]

Can you go to the barber shop and have them try to even it out for you? I'm sure they have seen this type of thing before.

Well, evening it out would have to be done by shaving it all off with a razor, and I can do that myself... heh, actually that's what I did this morning.

I think I look like a badass thug now, so maybe I'll send some pictures to my sister to freak her out (I just saw her this weekend). Perhaps I will scan them in and post them online when they come back (no digicam :[ ).

I've been meaning to get a haircut. Actually, I've been meaning to get a haircut since before the last time you gave yourself one. :) I think I'll let a professional do it though. If it's that easy to screw up using a hair trimmer, I'd hate to see what I could do to myself with scissors. And, I'll second that motion for pictures. :)

Hey, give it a go, some women look great with short hair ;]. And talk about low maintenance- I can finally wash my head with regular bar soap again!

I think the it's easier to screw up with the trimmer because it's so easy to give yourself a bald spot like in the movie Jackass (and me).
