Journal janeowit's Journal: Happy Birthday Some Woman! 16

I just wanted to wish you very vocal birthday greetings since I doubt you'd appreciate a phone call at this time of the morning.

I start classes today bright and early (8am, ew), and didn't want to forget. And I didn't forget, because the coolest people are born on the sixteenth.

I'm not sure how you intend to celebrate, but there is a loverly birthday concert in your honor tomorrow night that I'm sure you want to join me for. It's THREE HOURS of acoustic, un-amplified (thanks to new neighborhood regulations) Kid Dakota music! I will be there celebrating in your honor, and I'll be sure to drink a ginger ale for you.

Otherwise, I was thinking we should meet for some cheesecake.

Happy Birthday!

  • Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag [freelang.net], Irgendeine Frau.*

"Some Woman" in German would be "Irgendeine Frau". I have no idea if this is useful information or not.

    Cheers,

It was on the bottom of the page. Happy birthday somewoman, the world is better with you in it.

  • But I cordially invite you over on Friday or maybe Saturday for Crack Bread* with the Somes. And cannolis if I can find pre-made cannoli shells. And Mario Party. And pizza, but I don't know if you'll like pizza.

[*] Some Guy will be reverse engineering the crack from a restaurant where we don't really like the food, but their free bread + crack** is really good. I will be making that rosemary foccacia stuff that we had at Mill City. I didn't think to write down the baking instructions, but that's okay.

NYC will be lighting up the Empire State Building in, um, Some Color, in observance of your birthday. I will be attending a focus group tonight and organizing my recycling stuff later in your honor.
      • Awesome. I've always wanted some paper and plastic repurposed in my honor. :^)

Apparently, Air Tran has decided to uncelebrate [startribune.com] my birthday in the most horrific manner possible. Bastards.

I mean, happy birthday! Yeah, I have no idea what happened to the liquid assets they were going to use to take over Midwest Airlines and I also have no idea how all that money got in the SW Birthday FUNd.

          • In a completely unrelated note, would you like a slice of the world's largest gold dusted and diamond-encrusted birthday cake ever? Watch out for sharp diamonds. They're inedible like those little silver balls that old people use to decorate their cookies.

Also, free warm chocolate chip cookies and comfortable seating for all!
            • Hell I've drank enough Goldschlager for the gold flakes to fill up Fort Knox (the place, not our friendly /. Ohio resident), so I guess some gold dusted cake wouldn't hurt me. Wait... is gold poisoning a cumulative effect?
    • Happy Birthday!

    • 1. My Friday and Saturday are both open.

      2. If Buon Giorno [buongiornoitalia.biz] doesn't have premade cannoli shells, I don't think anyplace does. It is a really nice Italian grocery store. But you might just want to buy the cannolis from their deli because they are so good. They used to be located by Regions hospital in St. Paul, and we would make Italian the night we'd put up the Christmas tree.

      3. I don't think I've met I cheese pizza I haven't liked.

      4. I could make my un-bruschetta if you want. You know since I'm "allergic to
      • 1) Friday it is then.

        2) I went to Buon Giorno yesterday. I bought two packs of cannoli shells, some tomato basil sauce of theirs, and gnocchi.

        3) I bought mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, and romano cheeses to put on it. Plus the BG red sauce, but a pizza without sauce could be arranged.

        4) Un-bruschetta sounds tasty. I'm making a loaf of rosemary foccacia right now.

        5) Yay! I exclude the participation test.

        6) It appears that is an off week for Boston/MN visits, unless Jim decides that he wants to be here for
    • Fact: Frank "Postsecret" Warren will be speaking at a Barnes and Noble in Edina tomorrow night at 7:30pm and Birchbark Books near Lake of the Isles Friday at 7pm.

Question: Are you interested at all?
      • Yes! I saw that! Sadly (celebratorily?) I have my department Christmas party tomorrow night. Yes. Christmas. On January 18.
        • how odd. it's even late for little christmas... do non-catholics pay attention to the travel time it took after the magi to saw the star to get to bethlehem?

oh, i guess calling it little christmas is an irish thing, it's the epiphany. thanks wkipedia. thanks wifi in bars.

He forgot his capo, as usual, so no 10,000 lakes.
  • i don't have anything more original than "happy birthday" to say to you.
