Journal Firestorm_Hellkite_'s Journal: Google Redoing Pr Soon?

Alas, i must say that though i concur google is redoing the PR, i dont think there is a particular runup of bots crawling around at this point in time. I have a site that is consistently getting crawled, to the tune of 3000+ hits a day. Granted, although google is one of the largest, it isnt the biggest. Here for example is my December Bot Stats:

Robots Hits Bandwidth
Inktomi Slurp 28491+2002 684.32 MB
Googlebot 28340+51 534.32 MB
AskJeeves 16254+93 395.94 MB
MSNBot 3065+382 78.38 MB
Unknown spider 518+297 17.51 MB
Alexa (IA Archiver) 394+33 11.97 MB
Unknown robot 377+7 9.89 MB
Voyager 158+5 5.07 MB
Scooter 0+40 393.44 KB
WISENutbot 7+2 177.81 KB
EchO! 2 100.26 KB

Now looking at these stats, you might think i have a pr site of 9 or 8.. but, backlinking on such a large site... its fun.. to say the least.

So browsing around the internet and searchwords for my site, and lo and behold i find some very interesting things... First of all, google apparently does not... and i strongly say not like keywords in the title bar of internet explorer. For example, my main page has a title stating

Mega Forums - Home: Mega Forums. Tic Tac Toe Mod, Forums, Phpbb Mods, Phpbb Hacks, and More!

Yet on the same dime, yahoo and askjeeves loves it. To prove a point, look at this wierd hit back to my site the other day

Greatest movies of 2006

here we have just a normal search, and look at number 1 and 4... granted i do have a list of some top movies of 2006, but they arent even in the posts that come up, not even in that forum... what does come up... is the keywords in the title bar. So there goes theories, and myths... why would yahoo take a post of news feeds, and make it a 1 out of 22 million in the search? On the same token, google is probably not liking the titlebar, and might be why i have had some pr issues. With the amount of forums i run, this was a practical test, to see what is best for the site. In the instances of google, for the most part, they stay on the site once they get there. yahoo and other searches, they sometimes can, but the opportunity of them leaving immeditaly is very real. So, the perplexing question... what to cator to and what not to. Is google big enough that you might let go of yahoo askjeeves and others for just google? This is a SEO question that will possibly never be answered... however, playing with the bots, and learning from them makes things alot more interesting.
