Journal Ethelred Unraed's Journal: Ask ye Circle: 3-way video conf all crossplatform like 8
As the subject of this JE says, I'm looking around for a video conferencing software exists (preferably free-as-in-beer) that can be used for a three-way conference between Macs and Windows XP compies.
iChat AV works with AIM on Windows, but AFAIK only for two-way conferences.
Anyone? Buehler?
GAIM? (Score:1)

Does GAIM even do video conferencing? I haven't seen the functionality in a stock install. I only use it for IM anyway and even then very rarely.
Re: (Score:2)
At least judging from GAIM's website, video is at best beta status. No word on whether it even works on Mac OS X (I doubt it). Worse, the video fork's last release was a year ago [sourceforge.net]...doesn't look too promising.

Ok short of it:
QNext [qnext.com] free as in beer, but closed source. Works on Linux, OSX, and Windows.
Ekiga [ekiga.org] runs on Linux and supports video conferencing with Netmeeting.

Qnext looks to be exactly what I need -- cross-platform and (hopefully) easy to use...many thanks!

Skype (Score:2)
But Skype just upgraded their videocon capabilities for Macs so now it should work well cross-platform. Can't vouch for it myself, since I don't have anyone that I'm videconning with (3-way or otherwise)... but it was at least within my realm of consciousness.
