Journal eno2001's Journal: HALP!!!! (Does Anyone Remember This Band?) 5

Back in the early 90s when things were going downhill rapidly in the music world (the introduction of grunge being the biggest sign of collapse), there was this one hit underground wonder band who was really successful as a novelty hit at all the hip clubs. They were The Pajama Slave Dancers. All of the *stylish club kids who I hung out with were really into this one song by the PSD. But, I can't, for the life of me, remember the name!! And none of the online links I've found mention it either. The only thing I remember was that it starts off with this mock southern drawl voice saying something about wanting to make love to his girlfriend in his L.L. Bean clothes or something to that effect. I found it vaguely funny at the time, but I'm getting nostalgic and would love to hear it again. Any other hipsters here remember it? It was a HUGE club hit from what I remember hearing.

Loser! ;P Just kidding. I wasn't "hip" either, I just hung out with the people at the clubs who told me they were. I'll take their word for it. But I do remember this song being played on the college stations as well. I just can't remember the name and it's driving me CRAZY!!! At about the same time, the song "Anastasia" by T99 was all over college radio and the clubs as well. NIN was riding high then too.

I was on Earth. Just not the same one you were on. My wife and I frequently refer to "our 80s" when it comes to our mis-spent youth. That is "our 80s" vs. "their 80s". :P T99 [wikipedia.org] was a short lived but huge club hit. I was actually in college with one of NIN's sometime performers. A David Haymes who looked quite industrial even in Biology class.
