I left the room to go check on dinner while Mercer decided to take off his pants and underwear and go potty.

I walk back in to find him dismantling his potty, that now only has a few drops in it... The rest being lost in the carpet.

But at least he went in the right place.

    • Yeah, pretty much.

      But to be fair, he went again half an hour later, this time without taking the potty apart to see how it works.
      • Every parent does things differently, but if I can just put in my $.02 -- Pull-Ups (and all those other disposable "training pants") are completely useless. They look like a diaper, they feel like a diaper, and the kids are supposed to be able to pee in them (a VERY little -- they are not equipped to hold what a 2 or 3 y.o. bladder can put out). So exactly how are they NOT a diaper?

        The whole concept just confused Kiddo back in the day, and we were better off just using regular cloth training pants, lots o
        • Yeah, I agree. During the weekends he has more underwear time, during the weeknights I mostly let him roam while I cook, clean, and generally play housewife.

          When he has to go he'll start tugging to take his pants off, but doesn't always succed in it or in telling us in time, so I'm trying to let him get more time in just the pullups. So far he's pretty good with them, especially the thinner ones we got. He can also wiggle out of those fairly quickly when he needs to (Which isn't so great when there's a big

          yeah... pullups are diapers.
          Regular undies... ESPECIALLY if he hates being wet.
          Surprisingly, the best way we got Joey to take a dump on the toilet was when he had diahrea. He basically spent the whole day on the toilet, and learned from them on... wierd, eh?
