Journal rdewald's Journal: Ask Aunt Dotte': Cell phones in Europe 8
I am going to be in Italy during the first two weeks of September. I have need for a cell phone. I would like something like a pre-paid plan, particularly something using a SIM card I can slip into a Nokia 3390. Can any of you European Slashdotters give me what information you might have about such a project?
Also, on a side note, does anyone know anything about the train service between Zurich and Florence?

Buy prepaid card... Done... Okay, perhaps not the paper stand, but go to one of the many "provider shops" and be done with it. Beware tough, it might be that calling to the USA might not be possible. Sometimes pre-paid plans are locked to the country (for calling, not for being called), but you have to ask the nice salesmen (hehehe, if you find an English speaking one, that is...)

Oh, and it's "Zurich" and not "Zurik".
According to this [www.sbb.ch], there is a direct connection. Takes about 3 hours.
