The concept of karma...

  • Indulging in wealth is likened to a straw in a man's throat.
This straw, which is struck in the throats
of those who have indulged in worldly desires and wealth
is an obstacle to drink the wine
which is the source of eternal bliss

The tyrant will bear the consequence of his tyranny.
He who is roasting the poor's heart in tyranny is
in fact, roasting his own flesh.

But I do believe that believing in such things is an effective way to make them appear to exist.

The thing I like about karma is I can feel happy that all the bastards will get theirs, and I don't have to do anything to make it happen.

Except when I happen to be Karma's fists [wikipedia.org].

      • I do use a mental crutch a little like that: telling myself that one day the truth will hit them (your 'all the bastards') about the various bad things they have done without noticing and they'll be all "OH SHIT I AM SUCH A DICK".

Preferably so late that they have no chance of going on any kind of My Name is $_PERSON['NAME'] quest and getting closure. But this post is now starting to read like something out of Weekend Web [wikipedia.org].

  • Karma as some innate function of the universe? Nope.

Karma as a lifestyle choice to help guide my judgement? Yep.

In other words, karma is a wonderful idea that the universe does not implement, so it is up to us to do so.

  • I look at it this way:

Example: Charles Manson has some bad karma. He's not getting out of prison, no way, no how. He could become a virtual saint in prison today, and never see the light of day. He could practically levitate with holiness now, but no go on getting out on the street again.

Reason being: what he did in the past.

There's plenty of other people out there who are going to get punched in the face tomorrow because of what they did yesterday.

Karma is nothing mysterious, and it's only the believer

Always look over your shoulder because everyone is watching and plotting against you.
