      It (ie that I'm a three-legged duck) was difficult to accept at first: I kept trying to rip the antlers off (ducks don't grow antlers or the third leg until they grow up) and it hurt like hell, the third leg was always getting in the way and so on. But as I slowly grew accustomed to it, I discovered that having a third leg wasn't all that bad: for instance, I could scratch my nose without taking my hands off the keyboard. Am I happy with it? I don't know. I don't think I can

  • Is this like the transformation in "Orlando", only in reverse?

  • Since it's absurd...welcome back.
    • Someday, when I'm older and wiser, I'll write a book (or at least a doctoral thesis) about Literature, Religion* and the Absurd.

      * I've lately been reading the works of Nikolay Berdyaev [chebucto.ns.ca]; that's also where I got this idea from. He's of the mind that the only thing that Religion (in his case, Christianity) is the only source of true freedom. The absurdity of the belief in God (clearly, it cannot be explained) is what sets you free. The Absurd is the only thing that's real.
