Journal sulli's Journal: DDR: Xbox, PS2, ??? 7

So I am about 100 years behind the times, but if I wanted to get a Dance Dance Revolution kit for home use (maybe on craigslist, I'm cheap) should I get it for Xbox, PS2, or what?

Of course this is what I really want. But the neighbors might object.

DDR: Xbox, PS2, ???

  • Yeah I admit it, I have it, with two dance pads. In my defense, I got it for my 10 year old daughter (who loves it :-) ) I have to admit I like it too, since it makes me get up off the couch and jump around like a fool when my daughter plays it with me. I already had a ps2, so I can't comment on the xbox version, but I would suspect neither one would be better than the other. Online you can get the inexpensive dance mats for $9 plus shipping (so far the two I have work great, even after much use), plus game
  • I found a copy of DDR2 Ultramix that I found used for $19, and a wireless dance pad that I found new for $30. DDR2 Ultramix lets you play on Xbox live. So you could dance off with me, or NeeNee3 (who, BTW, isn't the best DDR dancer in the world. She stopped dancing against me after I laughed at her.)
  • There are issues with the Xbox Ultramix games, so I would have to recommend going the PS2 route. There are currently 4 different releases for the PS2, and the Xbox only has two (with a third coming), so there's also more choices available there. You'll also find that, should you desire a dance mat/platform of higher quality, you'll have more and better choices in the PS2 category. (Such as the top of the line Cobalt Flux [flux.com] platform that can survive being run over by a SUV)

  • That is, if you can find Mario DDR. What the hell happened?! There were like two copies made, and then... nothing.

Anyway, I have DDR Xtreme or whatever fo PS2. I like it. I don't know if there is a difference between the two platforms, I'm just really biased against the Xbox.

...you could just come over to my house and play. :D

    (FWIW, I vote PS2.)
