Journal Flamesplash's Journal: Stupid Haverty's

Don't you love it when you think a nasty situation is over just to find out months later that 'they' screwed up and you have to deal with it all again?

I bought a couch and chair from Haverty's back in July, the chair came just fine it was good. The couch however ended up coming about a month late. The main problem was that the local store had no idea what was going on from their supplier/manufacturer, so every couple days it was "it'll be there in a week". I like how a company like walmart can track millions of tiny packages and know where it's all going, but a company like Haverty's can't track big items like furniture or know what the hell is going on from one end to the other.

I was pretty upset with them, somewhat artificially to push them to get me my couch. Between the salesman and the associate manager they refunded me $260 for the delivery fee and some protection plan I bought to appease me a little. Not bad, I was a little surprised myself. I guess mentioning that you won't buy from them again and that you'll tell your friends too does work.

This however was too good to be true; It never actually happened. I'm close to paying it all off and my balance still seemed higher than it should given the reduction. A couple calls yesterday and the Assoc. Manager promised he'd take care of it himself and I guess not pass it along to someone else like he originally did.

So, hopefully in a couple days I'll be able to confirm it actually did all happen. I realize this is probably just a fault of the specific store I went to, but it doesn't really make me want to buy from the chain again, even if they're one of the few reasonably priced nice furniture places.

( above is a picture of Abby in what I like to call her Movie Monster pose. It kinda resembles a godzilla like monster toying with helpless citizens. )
