Journal Mick Ohrberg's Journal: Black Holes - In Our Atmosphere!

According to scientists lead by Dejan Stojkovic of the Case Western Reserve University, a high-energy (multi TeV) cosmic ray particle (such as neutrinos) that passes close to particles in our own atmosphere, could create a very small black hole. A newly built observatory (Pierre Auger Observatory) is designed to detect the following shower of particles. Dejan does however argue that the number of mini-black holes created would be fewer than expexted, and that the observatory during its service period (2003 -- 2008) probably would detect as many events as originally anticipated.
