Hardware Hacking

Journal http's Journal: Helpful Hardware Hack Hunted 2

All this discussion (technical and philisophical) and fun and yelling has seemed pretty pointless the past few days. So many words. Our friend Ryefield is in a coma after being hit by a car on the weekend*. Crap.

And here was me thinking that MY problems mattered.

Anyone know of how to hack this so we can skip his twelve day fsck on reboot? I don't care if it's selfish or altruistic - I want Ryfield awake NOW. And two good cup of coffee, but they don't allow coffee in the ICU. Or at least not that vile stuff they sell at the kiosk downstairs.

Hosting his mom and dad has been good for us. I mean, I'm almost as hysterical as his girlfriend, but I know where the cutlery is, and someone has to get it. It's been quite a trip, seeing inside other people's heads about how they think friendship works. For me it seems to involve a lot of listening (though not necessarily understanding everything said).

Heh. Look at the date of my last journal.

* the right weekend

    I'll see what i can dig up for 'mundane.'

    and 'tocsin' is a word i use regularly, to the dismay of the office ladies, who have to look it up every damned time.

    • journalling...my perennial weakness since inadvertently leaving a diary open and not clearly identified as such. i found myself on the business end of a hissy fit when i came home, and a little bit violated. but you're right. that diary incident was more than a few years ago; forgiving time has come and gone and maybe i _should_ think out loud more. thank you for the reminder. expressing myself (even on tribe [tribe.net], with my singular self-imposed stipulations) has helped a bit. a lot. maybe more.
