To limit the number of rows a MS SQL query returns, the TOP Clause can be used.

In DB2 its "RETURN FIRST (x) ROW(S) ONLY".
In Oracle its a WHERE clause "ROWNUM X".
In Access i guess you could just open a CURSOR and only grab that many.
