Journal superyooser's Journal: Bush's Courageous Reformer 8

"Blessings to the leader of the masses, Saddam Hussein the faithful, the legal President of the Iraqi Republic on the occasion of his 68th birthday. We wish him long life for the sake of Iraq and to free the Arab nation from the enslavement of foreign imperialism. Oh, the glory of victory, with the help of Allah."
- Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Authority, birthday greeting to Saddam Hussein, May 1

Bush embraces Abbas as Courageous Reformer, May 26
"I told the President (chief thug Abbas), there's a lot of international help that will be available, particularly as his government earns the trust of the donors. [...] I take great faith in not only his personal character, but the fact that he campaigned on a platform of peace."

People with your attitude could scuttle what small chance peace has. Work with what you have, and save the griping for your kids.

      Actions speak louder than words.

      Abbas' actions:

      1. Wrote dissertation on Holocaust denial [pmw.org.il] at University of Moscow
      2. Co-founded Fatah terror organization alongside Arafat
      3. Acted as Arafat's deputy for 40 years through wars and two intifadas against Israel
      4. Financed the Munich massacre of eleven Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics
      5. Earned Arafat's approval to the extent that Arafat appointed him Prime Minister in 2003
      6. Named his son Yasser!
      7. Put up a large painting of Arafat behind his office chair
      8. Rigged his ele
      • You're ignoring the ceasefire of 23 January which he negotiated from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and which has held pretty well, modulo a few independent breaches on both sides, and a non-unexpected amount of griping. Compare the number of dead before and after the ceasefire, and give credit where it is due.

The problem I have, with ignoring the progress and focus on things like what he named his kid (along with everthing else pre-ceasefire) and appeasements of his militant factions with prisoner releases, t

        • You started off telling me that we should pay attention to actions instead of words.

REALITY CHECK: There is no ceasefire. Hamas and co. shoot kassam rockets and mortars into Jewish communities almost every single day. PA security forces stand by idly and watch. The IDF usually do not fire back because the officials want to give Abbas more time to prove that he can stop the terror. This is totally silly, but Israelis want to prove (for the 10,000th time) that they are giving the Arabs the benefit of a doub

          • The resolution is: keep fighting....
Let me know how that works out for you.
            • Not keep fighting as they are now, but to fight as they should. They must fight to win. Israel could have victory in 48 hours if they fought to win. But Sharon doesn't want to win. He is intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. He wants to butcher his country with a diplomatic pen and surrender it to the enemy on a silver platter.

Current Israeli attacks are only to appease the citizens. I don't want Israel to continue attacking in that manner. I agree, that does nothing but perpetuate the stat

Also, note that superyooser is little more than a trigger happy version of the old-school lynch mobs. He does not want peace, he wants the genocidal extermination of the Palestineans. Nothing more, nothing less.
  • Nowhere in that article does it say that Abbas had anything to do with that. In fact, although you've attributed the text directly to Abbas, the text itself clearly indicates that you're misattributing it:

Two members of the leadership of the Fatah Movement, Bader Tewfik Hassan "Abu Yunis" and Fuzi Kamel Shahrur, express to the leader of the nation and her warrior knight...

I can't even begin to express my disgust at the fact that you and Railgunner have both, apparently, transcended the standard misquota

What this country needs is a good five dollar plasma weapon.
