Journal PDA_Monkey's Journal: Slashdot Recipe Book 5

http://geekswebhosting.com/SlashdotRecipeBook/

This is something I've been wanting to do for a while... Seeing tuxette's latest recipe posted to her Journal prompted me to finally do it.

I'm always wanting to try new things, I like to eat, I have webspace and a recipe site template ready to go, so I just took 10 minutes and set it up.

Please do join and add to the collection.

Oh, and the site's design is kind of fugly, so if any talented designers want to hack at a concept, do so and I'll review it and if I like it, I'll put it up... Just about anything will be better than that hideous orange polka-dot design up there now.
I do have to warn you though, the site template will probably be a PITA to work around. If you're really tallented, I'd love it to be "smarty-ified". Let me know if you want access to the PHP code.

  • I registered and I'll try to post some recipes as early as tonight ;-)
  • I tried uploading a picture with one of the recipes and it didn't seem to work. It also looks like the recipe posted (for approval) twice...
    • I wouldn't be suprised.
It's just a cookie cutter template probably put together by some outsourced coder... I haven't really looked at the code for this particular template myself, but I did spend a LOT of time with another template from the same source and it was a bit of a nightmare.

I just looked for other PHP/MySQL recipe scripts on sf.net and there's really nothing going on. Several hits, but all seem to have been abandoned or never even got off the ground.

That's just frustrating. sf.net should try to

We have some recipes. We haven't developed any ourselves but we have some that have worked really well for us. The wife and I will post some this week.

Old programmers never die, they just hit account block limit.

Working...
