Journal Journal: Organizing thoughts.

I've finally had to resort to a structured project --> item style list to achieve any sort of meaningful reporting on my daily activities. There's just too much happening for traditional end-of-day reports to be useful anymore. I've worked this job for almost two years on semi-daily and weekly status reports, but some recent thinking on disaster planning (such as me getting hit by an errant Marta bus) has left me no option but to ensure that Info That Matters doesn't get misplaced in an emergency.

I suppose this is a Good Thing, as it's mostly a result of a bunch of new business for the company. Now, if I could ever get around to restructuring our site to reflect everything we actually do these days... we still do everything that's listed on the current site, but we've expanded into a lot of other areas as well. I suppose it's a neat thing to have good projects in areas you aren't even advertising :).

Hey, my new work log pages even use CSS for all content formatting; there's not a single <table> tag in any of the code. If only this were practical for all the sites we develop. True, we've got the majority of our clients using Firefox as their browser, but prospects we haven't worked with are much more likely to be using IE. Maybe they'll fix some of their CSS issues with the next browser release. Maybe it won't matter by then ;).
