Journal Journal: State of the Union
I am genuinely afraid of the future state of this nation. Sure we've had some questionable moments, but we could always have faith in our system. That has all changed. We currently live in a world where corporations and their impending globalization reign king. We take note of the strings by which our officials dangle as they legislate away our democratic heritage. We allow our nation of tolerance and acceptance to dictate to other nations what to believe and how to behave. We watch in horror as people around the globe are subjected to abhorrent violence, all the while our operatives are training future dissidents and terrorists in the art of war. Our fellow Americans in uniform go not to their death defending our freedom, but instead create a veil under which our leaders rob us of our rights, of our liberties, and build their empires. Our once open nation is now virtually closed to those which rightfully own it, the citizens. We are told not to fear those whom wish to damage our civility, and righly so. For it is not those abroad, but those within who stand to gain most by destroying our way of life. Yes, I am afraid. I am afraid for myself, for my family, and for you. Consider what you can do to put an end to our nations tyranny. Only we can set the course of this great nation.
