Journal: My view on Slashdot's new comment system

Blimey.

Well, /.'s new discussion system seems fine. Except it's missing something, in my opinion.

AJAX is synonymous with new and exciting javascript effects and dynamic feedback. Sure, so click on a title and it expands. But in about a tenth of a second, so blink and you miss it!

What I reckon /. needs is a spot of eyecandy. OpenRico and Script.alicio.us are two AJAX-based Javascript libraries for this very purpose, both open source and very lightweight.

Fades and slides- throw them in and get Slashdot fully Web 2.0!
