Journal: Please mod me up, my karma is "Bad"

My only sin was posting a completely true comment that was not "slashdotically correct".

Specifically, something bad happened involving homeland security. While it was meant to blame Bush and conservatives, I pointed out that I lived where the incident occurred, and the place was one of the most liberal counties in the country.

For the crime of knowing the politics of where I live, I was branded flamebait.

The slashdot mod system is kind of a crapshoot. On my old account, about every 20th (right-leaning) comment would be "flamebaited". I guess this is what happens when the 1/20 happens on your first rating ... all your comments are zeroed.
