I installed Ubuntu linux..

its ...very fast, and nice. its the first 2.6 kernel powered distro ive used, and am finding it quite nice indeed. :)

just pondering.. how come the /. site, never gets slashdotted.

picture this:

a site gets slashedotted, because loads of people look at it.

but those people must have looked at the slashdot site first, to follow the link to the (now) slashdotted site.

man, /. must be runnin some lean and mean servers.. (insert M$ server joke here)

coz i feel like crap!

so staying inside at my PC all day will make me better!

I never really use them that much though, as I never see what to mod up or down, that hasn't already been done so..

cocked Mandrake up ever so slightly, (at first XMMS stopped playing all of its own accord) i went and did a few things and X started locking up / going un-responsive etc.. and requiring Ctrl+Alt+backspace and stuff..

I booted windows and proceeded to getting a 1.8gb torrent of Fedora, and now happily settling in.

its pretty nice, although I badly miss aspects of Mandrake.. and I cant seem to update things in this, maybe their server is extremely busy.. but that red ! mark is beginning to annoy!

hmmm yeah... did one of those update thingies.. after i DLed loads of the updates, i looked and there was another 205mb to do. hey ho!

got the latest GAIM (from 0.72 to 0.75something now) and going to get Mozilla Firefox installed there

well nowts happened with wine.. been using Linux just to chill out with xmms, and a whole lotta GAIM.

love the whole 4 desktops thing, you can keep xmms out of sight, while you IM away to all your buddies.

somehow, having music playing all the while you use linux feels right.

oh how i want a 19" monitor.. (and keep my 17" monitor, -run them both)

linux is just like that. makes u want high res. makes u want more screens. makes u into a geek. well done linux =)

oh why is it so hard to buy some bog-standard 80mm fans for my PC. cant find any cheaply, that are just fans. eg, no bloomin lighting and crap.

ah just got home, installed WineHQ yesturday so time to work out how to use it and start using some Windows apps, within Linux..
