Journal: Microsoft FUD on the /. banner ads

Here I am, on a Wednesday evening, and there's an ad at the top of the page saying "Mainframe Linux was found to be 10x more expensive than Windows Server 2003. (Study audited by META Group)" with a cute little animation that shows the cost of Linux rising. What gives? I can certainly believe that they were comparing GNU/Linux running on a Mainframe and Windows running on a desktop, but why is this ad on a Slashdot page at all? I just don't get it.
