Why is it for a absent minded asthmatic geek such as myself can not buy ventolin over the counter from a pharmacy/drugstore/whereever during an emergency ...
Was in waterford(ireland), had a asthma attack, realised that i didnt have my pump thing with me, went to nearest pharmacy in a breathless fit, was promptly refused by the lady behind the counter, who told me i have to see a doctor first and get a prescription. I have been a asthmatic for a little over a year now and have since changed countries (originally .za), so my doctor/prescription lies there. I somehow tend to refuse to go to a doctor only for him/her to tell me that i need ventolin. oh, and dont mind paying the 60 euro charge from the doctor, only to buy ventolin which only costs 6 Euro at most.
So, ended up driving home (40minutes), during a prolonged attack, to use my inhaler. i've been told it's quite easy to have a cardiac arrest during a asthma attack... rant rant rant rant. I'm pissed off.
