For the first time in maybe 5 years I have been hit by a virus. It was probably one of those blaster variants. Using "stinger.exe" it identified as both "lovsan worm" as "nachi worm".

It probably happened when I was away with the laptop and connected it for the first time to internet via a dial-up account from hccnet ISP. It probably happened within some minutes because I didn't have ZoneAlarm running. When I started that up, it immediately blocked a lot of traffic, including "mslaugh.exe" which triggered my personal red alert.

Another thing what happened was that it crashed the "RPC" service from XP.

So why didn't I use linux in the first place? The d****d laptop only has a "softwin" modem.
