Journal Journal: Moderation

I just completed my first ever moderating here on slashdot.org, had fun doing it.

However, before I did the moderating I read the documents on moderation that is provided. It talked about how WAY back in the day when Slashdot was small and got only 12 or so posts a day...

When I read that I was totally flored, I run a web site now that I'm attempting to get people to visit, and I'm having a hell of a time doing so.

A well, maybe someday I'll have a ninja cool web site to run.

Journal Journal: reading /. again

Well I just finished up my 12 weeks of mandatory service to the state of Illinois called "student teaching" and I'm going to be ruturning to my job as a level 2 network tech.

In some ways I'm happy about this, it will be nice to have some money coming in again rather than going out all the time, but I'm going to miss seeing the students that I was teaching.

Regardless, I have not been readin Shashdot for some time now (About 12 weeks) because steudent teaching was taking up lots of my time.

Blah, Blah, Blah...So on and so forth... (skiping to the end.) I'm hope to be doing lots more reading and commenting here again.

Journal Journal: Reality TV that would nott suck.

I really don't like reality TV, call ne crazy but I just can't get into a show about a bunch of people that I have never meet doing a bunch of stuff that I would never do.

So, I got to thinking; what kind of reality TV show could I get into? This is what I came up with.

take
1. Henery Rollins
2. Chuck D.
3. Iggy Pop
4. Busta Rymes

Have them live in a house and togther and see what happens.

Also, each week throw a guest of some sort into the mix. Exaple: this week on "house of the rock icons" (or what ever the show was called) we have Jack black joining the 4 people mentioned above.

What do you all (the few people for some reason my read /. journal) think about that?

Journal Journal: extended bio

For those who for some unknown reasn may be interested in my bio; below is what I would have writen for (for my bio) if I could have had more than 200 some characters. IN GENERAL... I consider my self a traveler who has been, and still is, walking various paths threw life hoping that they will lead me to (or at least closer to) the truth. There are two tings that I feel have lead me closer to the truth; Anarchism and Buddhism, a rather unlikely pair huh? Right now I'm working on (researching, writing, mediating on, and thinking about) ways to take the components of Anarchism and Buddhism and put them together. I feel that this is possible because both Buddhism and Anarchism place an enormous amount of importance on many of the same things. However the 4 things that I am most concerned with at the moment are the similarities between the way that Buddhists and Anarchists look at... Critical thought. Personal responsibility and, Mutual aid for your fellow human beings. And lastly freedom in general. Recently however I have become extremely interested in the Sufi outlook on life as well. I'm not sure if it can be integrated into the work I described above however I feel it is worth exploring none the less. ALSO... I have also been interested in the ways that contemporary popular culture is shaped by, yet at the same time shapes the lives of humanity. I have studied (not in depth, just in my free time) the effects of mass media on human interaction with other human beings, and the environment that they live in.
