Journal Journal: IEEE 1588
I've been playing with motion contol multi axis sync and coordination....IEEE 1588 is looking like the standard for syncing clocks across networks. If all your controllers know what time it is....to the sub uSecond,mSecond and even nSecond level...then the natural drift of clocks and controller update rates can be skewed to the best clock on the net.....if you don't know why this is important, email and I'll try and fill you in. Couple of links for your surfing list:

If you have been working with this protocol and/or have any info to share/request...I'm ready for any geek-speak.
Enjoy,
R.
