Journal: formsPlayer speech-enables XForms!

formsPlayer, the fully conformant XForms processor available as a plug-in for Internet Explorer 6, is now multimodal.

formsPlayer is available as a free download so that anyone can build a web-site using XForms and know that their users can access it. And with the addition of speech, formsPlayer shows that XForms is fast becoming a full-featured development langauge.

Samples are available on the site that show how to use the xforms:message element to speak:

• messages that are dynamically created, for example using data returned from servers ...
• ... that are in languages other than the default, using xml:lang...
• ... and are triggered on any event, whether mouseovers, validation errors, button clicks, etc.
