Journal Journal: My Intro 1

Well, this is my first journal entry. Just a little information about me-self. ;-)

I am finally 30 as of December 2002. Fealt weird at first, but I think I've settled into it ok. :-p

I am also married to a wonderful woman (2 years..not her age...she's actually 25.. ;-p) and we have a beautiful son who will be 2 years old in August.

In regards to the computer realm, I work as a Computer Specialist (PC tech) for MDCPS. I also have a love for computers, be they Mac or PC. My systems at home vary from an aging Mac Quadra 650 (given to me for fwee!!) to a Pentium II 400 PC to my newest addition, an Athlon XP 2400+ rig. Here are the specs on all my computers:

Mac Quadra 650 (The Ol' Workhorse: She still packs a punch!)
112 MB RAM, 500 MB SCSI Hard Drive, 2X CD-ROM
Mac OS 8.1
(Waiting to get a larger HD for this computer to install Mac OS 8.1 and Debian 3.0r0)

Homebrew PC #1 (PII-400, aka My Son's PC)
160 MB RAM, 2 GB Hard Drive
Acer 8X CD-ROM ("Old Reliable")
Windows 2000 Professional

Homebrew PC #2 (Athlon XP 2400+ 2.0 GHz)
ABIT NF7-S motherboard w/ 512 MB RAM
Maxtor 15 GB Hard Drive, Quantum 10 GB Hard Drive
TDK VeloCD 48X CD-RW
Windows XP Professional

"Frankenstein" (Repackaged Dell Dimension L600r)
Pentium III 600EB
Intel CA810E motherboard w/ 256 MB RAM
LG CD-ROM
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
(This was a Father's Day gift which cost me only 50 dollars from my wife's cousin. He gutted the motherboard from the original case and put it in a sleek black and silver case, hence the nickname)

I have three other computers which have been put out to pasture. One is an AMD 5x86 PR-133 PC with one of those rare 486 PCI mobos, the second is a 486 DX2/66, and the third is a Macintosh Performa 631CD with a motherboard upgrade, making it a Power Macintosh 6200-series model. Maybe one day they may come back from the dead with a Penguin's soul ;-), but for now they're just "there."

I am also a fellow Penguin. I love all that is Linux...Thank you Mr. Torvalds!!! However, I think I may also venture into other OSes such as the BSDs and some other obscure ones as well.

I am also a piano/keyboard player. I play keyboards for my church and when I have the time, I compose music on my computer using Master Tracks Pro 6 from the (out-of-business-for-a-while-now) Passport Designs. My keyboard is an ol' Kawai K4.

Well, that's it!
