OK. I've submitted a question to Ask Slashdot. It's about whether people know of any way I can avoid being forced to use commercial software when publishing a scientific paper I'm writing. I think it's a pretty interesting question, and Googling didn't find me anyone else who'd asked it before. Let's see if the Slashdot editors think it's good enough. I won't be crushed if it doesn't make it, but I am very interested to hear comments.
