Journal Journal: Bayesian E-Mail Filter
It struck me today that a good adaptation of the bayesian spam filter would be to make it a general filter. For example, I get messages from a multitude of mailing lists that I have filters set up to separate into folders. Every once in a while a message will come along that doesn't fit the filter and just goes to the general inbox.
How great would it be to use an intelligent filter instead to do the same thing...it wouldn't miss those random messages. It wouldn't require the meticulous filter set up that outlook currently takes. I'm sure MS would probably even go for such a thing - and by doing so, integrate a spam filter into their product. Kill two birds with one stone.
And perhaps Thunderfox or whatever it is called now could put it in first, thus beating MS to the punch and gaining some friends.
