Journal Journal: Nanoscale engines, based on DNA.

According to this article at Technology Resource News, NYU researchers have demonstrated a way to make motors out of DNA. The article states that their motor designs generally produce a range of motion from .04 to 4 nanometers. It is pointed out that, by way of comparison, an E. coli bacterium is about 1,000 nanometers in diameter. One researcher explained, "This may enable us to build nanofabrication facilities to produce new molecular species."
