Journal Journal: On coffee... again

This is my comment.
There are many like it but this one is mine.
My comment is my best friend.
It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my comment is useless. Without my comment I am useless.
I must write my comment true.
I must write straighter than my moderators, who is trying to mod me down.
I must shoot them before they mod me.
I will.
Before God I swear this creed: my comment and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of my moderators, we are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace.
Amen.

Journal Journal: The Karma System 2

I don't understand the karma point system. Before this I had a positive karma, I regularly metamoderate and have had my share of mod points. After this my karma is now bad.

I get a first post(on purpose, it's sleazy I know, but hey otherwise I'd have to study for my finals) and as everybody know, first posts gets heavily moderated.
I had seen the story in "the-mysterious-future" and imediately thought of a witty response, so I recited it along with some of the more tried material, insensitve clod, in soviet russia etc.
I didn't think of it as "5, Funny" but it quickly got modded up to that, of cause some people, myself included, didn't think so highly of it, and thus gave it "-1 Overrated" and "-1 Redundant". But people kept modding it up again, one guy even gave it "+1 Informative" and another "-1 Flamebait" which I just don't understand, and hope gets metamodded "Unfair"
Currently it's "50% Funny "30% Overrated 10% Redundant".
How come a post that's modded mainly positive, gives you bad karma? Is being funny really bad karma? Or is it just that funny gives alot less boost than overrated and redundant drags?

I think I get it now.
