Photo Reveals UK Plan: "Assange To Be Arrested Under All Circumstances" 847

politkal writes with the lead from a CNN story: "A policeman in London appears to have accidentally revealed an arrest plan for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, in what UK media have branded an embarrassing slip-up by London's Metropolitan Police. Clearly legible in a zoomed-in view of the clipboard, on a sheet of paper headed 'Restricted,' are the words: 'EQ Embassy brief — Summary of current position re. Assange. Action required — Assange to be arrested under all circumstances.' It goes on to suggest possible ways in which he could exit the building, such as in a diplomatic bag or vehicle."

Let's face it, driver support in Linux is ok for things like word processing, surfing the web, and playing media files. Outrageous frame rates so you get that genuine 'blood in the face' experience? Not happening.

Valve had L4D2 running better under Linux than Windows, and on NVidia hardware too. Decent framerates are not impossible.

But you can fix it. I muck my box up at least once a month, but it's never bad enough that a reinstall is the only solution. Unless the shell or compiler get damaged, I can just rebuild everything, and have it running smoothly within a day or two. How do I fix my Windows install if explorer.exe breaks itself? Also, portage never forces me (or even asks me) to reboot. Never. It seems every time Windows updates itself, I have to tell it to shut up until I'm ready to reboot.

RIAA Wants To Scrap Anti-Piracy OPEN Act 268

silentbrad writes with these selections from an article at Ars Technica: "The Recording Industry Association of America found itself in an unusual position this week: opposing an anti-piracy bill that's gaining momentum in Congress ... the RIAA argues the bill won't be effective at shutting down rogue sites. The trade group warns of 'indefinite delays' as claims of infringement are investigated. And it complains that the process envisioned by OPEN would allow for 'endless submissions by parties such as Google,' further gumming up the process. All the while, the alleged rogue site would be able to continue operating. The RIAA also warns that the need to hire an attorney to navigate the ITC's arcane legal process will 'put justice out of reach for small business American victims of IP theft.' The trade group complains that sites aren't held responsible for the infringing activities of their users, a rule the trade group says 'excuses willful blindness and outright complicity in illegal activity.' RIAA also says it's 'virtually impossible' to prove that a site infringed willfully, as OPEN requires."

Because if you don't have that right, you are not a free man, you are a subject. And as such, your rights and your life can be taken at any time the people who are your masters decide to. This is not theoretical. See Apartheid. See a hundred other things like that and worse.

See Ghandi.

Sorry if I came off as a troll, but I didn't grow up American. I see what you mean, but also don't understand why people can't just gradually move on. Yes, people will be violent, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it takes violence to resolve it.
Sorry again, it seems there is a culture chasm.
