Not that it matters, but for the record, to the fella who suggested that my work did not speak for itself, you have no idea what youre talking about. In fact, for what its worth, the MS HR rep assigned to deal with me when I escalated the problems I had with my supervisor agreed that my final review was effectively a character assassination that had little to do with my work product. Unfortunately, the hire/no-hire decision in the case of interns rests with the boss.
As for the guy who thinks I'm a whore and suggests that someone else will "buy me," I say "great! I hope they do." Right now I get paid to do shit that is, at best, pedantic, and while its a job, it doesn't even compare to the level of stimulation I experienced as an MS intern. So yeah! I ardently hope that some company decides to make a whore out of me and its as pleasurable as MS was.
My father used to say "get a job you love and never work a day the rest of your life." And thats what I'm getting at. People who are independently wealthy or live at home with Mom and Dad are real great at calling the rest of us work-a-day shlubs whores. Given that I'm not independently wealthy and I've been pretty much out on my own since I turned 18, putting myself through college and taking care of business, I guess I didn't really have much choice about being a whore.
