Since the 2003-2004 TV season has mostly come to an end, and that XMLTV doesn't grab listings from Zap2it properly anymore, I decided to upgrade my mythtv box from 0.11 to 0.15. The update was pretty much painless. Just follow some well written documentation.

I'm still going through a lot of what the new features are. I'd like to be able to get the callerID module working so that when someone phones when I'm watching TV, their number/name will scroll on the screen. Maybe I'll hook it up to a blacklist telemarketer DB so that those calls don't ring through....

I've often wondered if the anti-virus companies have anything to do with the computer virus outbreaks. The companies stand to gain way too much to just turn a blind eye to this fact. I'm sure that everytime a codered-mydoom-virus comes out, people scramble to buy their products. Is it disclosed anywhere what the numbers are of sales of anti-virus products after an outbreak? "Hey, sales are dropping on the lastest xxx-anti-virus software. Let's send out a few infected emails." You have to remember after all, that the reason why the anti-virus company exists is not to stop viruses from spreading, but to make money and be accountable to their shareholders.
