Journal Journal: Another reasons GNOME sucks
I submitted a bug to GNOME using an email address I did not want published. They published my address (without permission/consent) in their archives, and since they are more interested in "keep[ing] the archives as historically accurate as possible" than my privacy, they refuse to do anything about it.
My warning to the free software community: be careful of those who espouse the principle of freedom for they may do so by sacrificing equally important principle(s). For freedom, they would ask you give up your right to privacy.
I realize this is not an issue confined only to GNOME, but they have made it very clear they will not do anything about it, that they do not value privacy, in as much as they claim to value freedom.
