Journal Journal: How do you leave the US and live in a better country? 2
I'm a Systems Administrator at a fairly large global company.
I notice how many people work 10 or more hours a day like myself, they are paid a salary and are not compensated for overtime, they can rarely take vacations, live in small 1-2 bedroom apartments and have mediocre healthcare. Most of these people make nearly six figures but live like they are surviving. My main question is this, how does an American move to Denmark, the UK, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, France etc? How can a reluctant American expatriate to one of these places? I notice how engineers and others in my field come to the US from India, Asia, and the Middle East but rarely meet someone from these other places in my career. Could it be that those places are the best places to be? Is this really the country that would be the ideal place to live if you are a humanist bent on enjoying life to its fullest?
