Journal Journal: 'RotoTexture' Software Enables "Virtual Makeup"

New Scientist Tech(http://www.newscientisttech.com/article.ns?id=dn10983&feedId=online-news_rss20) has an interesting article on a new piece of special effects software called "RotoTexture" which can automatically add surface effects to raw video clips. From the article:

The software - called RotoTexture - provides a less complicated way to artificially modify a surface, including a person's face. Normally, a 3D model of a scene must be built in order for it to be modified in this way.

Videos of the software in action can be seen at http://graphics.cs.uiuc.edu/~huifang/rototexture/surface.mov and http://graphics.cs.uiuc.edu/~huifang/rototexture/faceRotate.mov
