MsWillow's Journal: Chugging along

Hi Journal, 's me again. Having another fairly good day. Didn't get everything done that I'd planned, but I did get a few essentials dealt with.

Called the local guy with cheap e-wheelchairs, got directions and we'll see him tomorrow sometime, to see if he has anything that's close to what I need. If he can come through with one, it'd save me a hella large chunk of change. Fingers crossed!

We also got the rest of the paperwork for getting some financial assistance filled out, and in the mailbox to be picked up tomorrow. That would be the absolute bee's knees if they can help, both in getting the price down and in helping me cough up my 20%. I'd love a brand-new chaair, but I'm willing to take a refurb if that's the best I can afford after 4 months savings. Hey, it'll allow me to get out of the damned house, on my own, for the second time in the last 5 years. I'll take darned near anything!

Also, today was loot-in-the-mail day. I got my new pants (black velvet stretch jeans), a book that I've wanted for ages (Schlock Homes: The complete Bagel Street chronicles), and a set of diamond-coated jeweler's files. The book I'll read later on, the jeans I'll wear tomorrow while checking out the e-chairs, but the files! Ahh, the files have already been very useful.

The files have allowed me to clean up the "notch" in two Purple Hearts (one semi-finished, one still just a preform), and they've let me clean up the ring I've been working on for the last 6 months. Finally! I got it filed smooth, then buffed it with my cool Dremel tool, polished it shiny, and set in it a stone I'd cut ages ago, a 15x20mm cab of Larimar. It's lookin' purty! :) I *will* wear this tomorrow, and to the club meeting next week, too (where I'll also show off the Purple Hearts, and some opals too).

So, I didn't get everything done that I wanted to, but I got the most important stuff done. Tomorrow I might get the rest of it dealt with. We'll have to see how it goes.
