Journal Journal: Samuel's Caml

There once was a man named Samuel
At programming he was like an animal
He liked to code Scheme
It was kind of like a dream
Until the day Samuel met Caml

You must feel sorry for poor Samuel
In his classes he wasn't allowed to write Caml
He was forced to write C
But he did so without glee
Oh how Samuel wished he could use Caml

All his friends were using Java
(Which is kind of like eating lava)
Because it was like a wannabe C++
And what did it ever do for us?
Oh poor Samuel, he so wanted to use Caml

At last Sam took a languages course
Which of inspiration it was a great source
Because there they were more open minded
And liked languages statically binded
Now Sam could write in Caml, and did so without remorse

Journal Journal: Boredom

Well, it's 12/31/02 and I'm bored. Classes start back at school one week from tomorrow, and I have Calculus 3, Discrete Structures, Data Structures and Database Systems. I'm looking forward to taking my classes, but less so about going back to school. I kind of like school because I have some privacy (I have a private room) and it's quiet and for the most part I can do what I want to when I want to do it. I got some books for Christmas (The Silmarillion, the three Lord of the Rings books, Data Structures and Algorithms in Java, as well as Computer Architecture: Design and Performance a day or two before Christmas and the MySQL Reference Manual the Saturday after) and have atleast started on most of them, but haven't really gotten very far, so maybe I'll get some reading done before school starts.
