When I lived in victoria park last year she and i used to listen to the cure as we went to sleep. And now i'm at work and someone put the album we used to listen to and it's really screwing with my head... well what can you do.

Status:

Just changed to a new slashdot handle in keeping with my username on other systems.

Working at PerthWeb (coding) for my second year - almost finished it.

Pulling out of university very soon. Have about 60% of my degree but i just can't be fucked anymore.

My girlfriend just broke up with me again yesterday (3rd time in our 1.7 year relationship), possibly because I'm too much of a nerd (heh, kidding). Realistically because we seemed to be getting bored of our relationship (which does happen to everyone periodically once they're past that honeymoon stage). Well shit. What can you do. I didn't really want to break up, but would rather just take a break from eachother. Although she did just get back from melbourne after one month which you'd have thought would be break enough. But really we probably need a break from going out, not just a break from eachother. But I have a sickening feeling that this is the last time she's going to break up with me [and that we're not getting back together]. Not awesome. The tears are dry now and it's time for the spazzing out and the jealousy and the breaking of windows. :]

Ideas that currently excite me (these are my ideas):

1) A computer, built from the ground up where the languages and structure mimic the underlying state-based circuitry. A state based computer. All programming is done in terms of states (as is often done when designing digital circuitry). For example rather than having a pulldown menu with some type of "onChange" event, you have a bunch of states defined (for when the pulldown menu is in a certain position, or even between certain positions) and the state is entered (variables set etc, creating new states).

2) Arbitism - the idea that we should base major life decisions on completely arbitrary real world events. eg: if the sky has 90% cloud cover tommorrow I will ask my girlfriend to marry me. If I see a dog on the way to work tommorrow I will quit my job. I guess the idea is that the natural rhythms of the universe will guide us. or something. Yeah, nice science there.
